The award winning special effects program particleIllusion
provides hundreds upon hundreds of preset and adaptable particle effects such as firework animation, smoke, explosions, water effects and so on for film and video applications.
particleIllusion has been used in many feature films including: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Final Destination II, Just Married, Biker Boyz, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, Ghost Ship, Hart's War, Rollerball, Behind Enemy Lines, The Core, The Italian Job, and Torque.
Even when it won't be used in the final version of a shot, particleIllusion is the ultimate high speed particle tool for pre-viz.
Its speed allows for multiple iterations in minutes, allowing the client to direct the performance of explosions, smoke, firework animation and other effects.
Our products include:
particleIllusion 3.0 our award-winning standalone particle effects application that enables you to quickly and easily add a huge variety of particle effects like fire, explosions, and firework animationto your images, animation, or video.
particleIllusion SE our low-cost introductory version of particleIllusion.
Emitters for Apple Motion Using our years of particle system experience, we've converted over 300 of our particleIllusion SE effects to work inside Motion, using Motion's own particle system.
The Professional Emitters are a collection of 180 high-quality particle emitters for use in particleIllusion 3.0.
Using OpenGL hardware acceleration, you'll get real-time (or near real-time) preview of most effects and ultra-fast rendering of final output.

Choose from an always-growing collection of preset effects from the ordinary (such as smoke, fire, firework animation, explosions, water effects, sparkles) to the unusual (colorful artistic effects, strange undersea creatures).
Modifying an effect or creating a new one is simple. Since particleIllusion is sprite-based (uses images for all of the particles), you'll find it very easy to create new effects right away.
particleIllusion uses OpenGL, so you'll time most of your renders in frames per second instead of seconds (or minutes) per frame.
Of course the number of effects that you use, and the parameters of those effects have an impact on performance, but here are a few examples of what you should expect from particleIllusion.
There are hundreds of preset effects available (smoke, fire, explosions, sparkles, fireworks just to name a few) to add to your project with only a click or two of the mouse ? does it get easier than that?
"Using particleIllusion allows us to consistently deliver
incredible gaming graphics and interactive experiences
on many of our most popular entertainment products. particleIllusion's
graphical user interface is so user friendly, that we made
its workflow the basis for creating our in-house runtime
particle tool. It is one tool that I can't do without when
developing the art direction for a game."
