Motion Emitters FAQ

Why do I need this plug-in, since Motion has a particle system already?
Our Motion Emitters are not a plug-in -- they are a collection of particle emitter presets that use Motion's existing particle system. These emitters greatly expand the range of effects that are available in Motion.

Are these emitters the same as particleIllusion?
Most of these emitters were created using particleIllusion SE, so they are similar to some particleIllusion SE effects. But since SE has over 900 emitters available for it already, and the Motion Emitters contain 330 emitters, overall you can't say that these Motion Emitters are 'the same'as particleIllusion.

Are these emitters the same as the Pro Emitters?
No! The Pro Emitters are for particleIllusion 3.0 only, and 3.0 is a much more advanced particle engine than Motion's particle system. Although particleIllusion 3.0 can create all of these effects, it does much, much more. The Pro Emitters are extremely complex examples of what particleIllusion 3.0 can do, so most (all?) of the Pro Emitters are not possible to do in Motion's particle system.

I'm using Motion 2 and installed these emitters, but they don't show up in Motion.
You must have installed your Motion 2 content in a custom location (not the default location). All you need to do is copy the Motion Emitter files to the correct location:

The wondertouch emitters are in:
Users/Shared/Motion/Library/Particle Emitters/wondertouch (large)

Copy that "wondertouch (large)" folder to the "Particle Emitters" folder wherever the Motion 2 library content is installed.

The particle images are in:
Users/Shared/Motion/Library/Content/Particle Images/wondertouch

Copy that "wondertouch" folder to the "Particle Emitters" folder wherever the Motion 2 library content is installed.
